The Kennels

Since we arrived, the kennels has undergone a major refurbishment.  We now have new flooring throughout, new doors, new kitchen and storage, as well as all new beds, bedding and toys.

The kennels are fully heated when needed and I monitor the temperature very carefully.

We are set in 7 acres of beautiful countryside so have lots of space to walk our guests.  There is a very large field that is completely secured so that the dogs can run free.  I am also happy to take dogs out on a lead up to woods if they prefer a lead walk or some extra stimulation. All dogs get two short toilet walks and two long walks a day.  I find that dogs feel safe and secure with this set routine and it is amazing how quickly they settle into it.

Each dog or family of dogs gets walked individually. I don’t generally mix the dogs as I feel they benefit far more from one on one attention and I also don’t like to take any risks with dogs not getting on.

All dogs have their own individual needs and I will take the time with owners to understand the needs of their pets in advance.  I am experienced in administering medication, including the administration of  injections if required.

I have a large range of beds and lots of cosy, comfy fleeces and blankets for those that need it.  I also have a large range of toys to suit all dogs.

There are 7 good sized pens with an inner and outer area and 2 large family pens, also with an inner and outer area.

The kennels are cleaned with Saniterpen as recommended and sold at the vets.  This ensures the dogs are protected against any nasty germs or bugs that can develop in a kennel environment.  It is 100% safe to use around the animals and is not an irritant.

All bowls are cleaned in a dishwasher on a high temperature and are changed after each feed.  Similarly all bedding and towels are washed regularly also on a high temperature.

I pride myself on having happy dogs that enjoy coming here as they know they get lots of individual attention and play time, in a safe and calm environment.

What to bring

You will need to bring with you your pets vaccination certificate and any medication if needed.  I will keep your certificate/book here during your pets stay.

You will also need to bring along your dogs food and any treats you wish to bring for the duration of their stay. I do have a range of treats for your pets but will check with you first that you are happy for them to get a treat at bedtime and after walking.

Please feel free to bring along their brushes if they require grooming whilst they are in.  I am happy to do this and it is a great way for me to bond with your dog(s).

I have a very large range of bedding and beds but I am happy for you to bring along your own beds and bedding if you prefer. I do recommend bringing a blanket or something that smells of home to help them settle in.

I would also ask that your dogs are treated against, fleas, ticks and worms before they come in
